Dear Johnna,  I love you very much even though I am far away, and can't be with you.  I'm so happy that you will be receiving Jesus, for the first time in Holy Communion. You must be very excited.  I remember clearly the day of my First Communion in 1932. That's a long time ago, isn't it?  I couldn't wait for the day to come.

The preists and sisters taught me that Jesus was really present in a special way in the Holy Eucharist. They told me that it would look like bread but underneath was the real Body and Blood of Jesus. That fascinated me--and still does. I knew that God was a spirit and so He was invisible.

But how exciting to think that He could be present under the appearance of bread so that He could actually come into my body.  

What a very special day it was when I finally got to receive Him. I just wanted to spend time talking to Him because I had so many things to say and so many people to pray for.  

People told me that those few moments when Jesus is present in your body is a powerful time for praising Him and asking Him for favors.

I'm sure that you have many favors to ask of Jesus when you receive Him.   There are many people who receive Jesus in First Communion but then they forget about Him. They forget but He doesn't forget. He still loves them. Pray for all those people when you are talking to Jesus.  

Please pray for me too, because it's not easy to be a priest. 
 
I have been praying for you this week. Spend some time this week thinking about what you are going to talk to Jesus about when He is in your body.
